"Nice split tape issued by COdA. The tape has one live solo piece by American expat violinist Hernandez, whose buzzing strength and tonal quality (somewhere between avant jazz and new music) always sound wonderful. This is followed by one of her field recording compositions - a musical tour of her adopted home Stockholm, with a sequence of edited rather than altered sounds. Format are a duo comprised of Australian expat guitarist Ben Speth and Italian expat drum/synth jockey Eugenio Luciano. Format's sound has the same sort of free-blown, angular and explosive propulsion as combos like Zu and Ruins. Maybe not as relentless, but not unrelentless either"
